If you need more than an article

ChhanaBox is a place to think, not a crisis service. The organisations below are staffed by trained people who can help — many of them right now, day or night.

If life is in immediate danger

Call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department. If you need urgent medical help but it is not life-threatening, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

Ongoing support

Your GP

Still the most useful first step for most people. A GP can discuss talking therapies, medication, time off work, and referrals. You are allowed to book an appointment simply because you don't feel right.

NHS Talking Therapies (England)

Free NHS psychological therapy for anxiety and depression. In most areas you can refer yourself without going through a GP.
